Assurance Intern – Summer 2028 (Atlanta) | BDO USA
The Tone:
This is a seasonal / temporary internship at BDO USA, located in Atlanta, GA. BDO provides assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients across the U.S. and around the world, helping them navigate complexity and grow with confidence. This role offers an opportunity for energetic self-starters to gain hands-on experience in assurance, developing critical relationships and a unique perspective on the firm’s practices while contributing to client success.

• Pay: $32–$45 hourly
• Mission: Assist the Assurance practice in problem-solving and fact-finding for dynamic clients, gaining practical experience and contributing to audit processes.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
• Methodology: Become familiar with BDO specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Client Support: Provide various support functions to the audit staff during engagements, including communicating with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties.
• Documentation: Prepare and document work in working papers utilizing BDO specific tools and templates.
• Research Project: Complete one assigned accounting or audit-related research project and present findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow instructions as directed; ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Bonus: Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting, actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA, leadership experience, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
