• Location: Hybrid – New York, USA
• Pay: $185000–$264500 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, manages a small team.
• Mission: Provides independent oversight, insight, and constructive challenge to the firm’s data governance practices.
• Tech Stack: AWS/GCP cloud stack, Data Platforms (like DataBricks, RedShift), Data Governance tools (like Atlan, Anomalo)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversight: Provide independent oversight and thoughtful challenge of enterprise data governance strategy, framework, and execution.
• Assessment: Lead independent assessments and validation activities to evaluate data governance frameworks, controls, and practices.
• Evaluation: Evaluate data quality, controls, and issue management practices, identifying opportunities to strengthen outcomes.
• Reporting: Oversee data risk identification and reporting, ensuring meaningful insights are surfaced to leadership.
• Guidance: Guide alignment with regulatory and policy expectations, balancing rigor with practical business needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Executive leadership in data governance, data management, or risk oversight, with experience in second line, governance, or control functions.
• Experience: 10+ years in data governance, data management, or risk oversight, including establishing or overseeing enterprise data governance programs in large, complex organizations.
• Skills: Ability to influence, advise, and challenge senior stakeholders; knowledge of relevant frameworks and regulations like DCAM, AI governance, data privacy, and data management regulatory expectations; familiarity with AWS/GCP cloud stack, Data Platforms, and Data Governance tools.
• Bonus: Experience within the insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
