2027 Engineering Leadership Development Program | Gerdau North America

The Tone:
This is an entry-level leadership development program at Gerdau North America, with a primary location in Midlothian, TX, and required travel across the United States and Canada. Gerdau is a major steel manufacturing company operating in 10 countries, employing over 30,000 individuals, and producing long and special steel products for various markets including agriculture, energy, industrial, automotive, and manufacturing. The TL;DR
• Role: Entry-Level Leadership Development Program
• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person Midlothian, TX, with travel across the US and Canada
• Team: G.Future participants will be placed within departments such as Melt Shop, Logistics, Continuous Improvement, or Scrap.
• Mission: To develop future managerial and technical leaders for Gerdau by providing intensive on-the-job learning, training, and mentorship.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Problem Solving: Solve large and small-scale problems, including creating mechanical components/assembly drawings or optimizing product output and process prioritization.
• Strategic Implementation: Work as a leader managing the strategic implementation for overall business goals within assigned departments.
• Business Acumen: Gain in-depth knowledge of the business from beginning to end by visiting customers and suppliers.
• Organizational Engagement: Develop a holistic view of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America and traveling to various locations.
• Skill Development: Grow a comprehensive set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills through an intensive 12-month program.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Automation, Material Sciences/Metallurgy, Transportation, Management, Administration, or another applicable degree. This program is for graduates within the past 3 years or those expected to graduate by Summer 2027.
• Experience: A maximum of 3 years of full-time work experience.
• Skills: Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5), high learning agility, willingness to adapt and develop continuously, and legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Bonus: Preferred GPA 3.0 or above, preference for a degree-related internship experience, and a well-rounded background with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities.
