What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Tax Expertise: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the tax landscape within one of the world’s largest departments, covering critical areas such as US Federal and state income tax, global income tax reporting (provision), and various indirect taxes like sales and use, and property taxes.
• Engage in Strategic Projects: Actively work on challenging and strategically relevant projects, directly contributing to solutions for complex adjustments and evolving tax reform updates, thereby enhancing your practical experience and in-depth development.
• Analyze Interdepartmental Impacts: Cultivate an ability to think cross-functionally and critically analyze how tax decisions and legislative changes impact multiple groups and functions throughout the extensive Walmart organization.
• Participate in Corporate Life: Engage in broader Walmart Finance events, including valuable meetings with Walmart executive leaders across the organization, and foster connections through social events with other summer associates and tax department members.
• Apply Key Skills: Utilize and refine strong strategic and analytic skills, combined with adaptable problem-solving capabilities, while effectively harnessing tools such as MS Office, specialized tax and accounting software, and data analytics, all communicated clearly and concisely across all levels.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Master of Accountancy degree and anticipating graduation in December 2027 or May 2028.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to operate with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and collaboration; willingness to join the team onsite at Walmart HQ in Bentonville, AR.
• Skills: Strong strategic and analytic skills, adaptable problem-solving abilities, proficiency in MS Office, tax and accounting software, and data analytics tools, and effective communication across all levels.
• Bonus: A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred; candidates must not require sponsorship from Walmart for authorization to work now or in the future.
