This is a full-time hybrid role at Ally, located in Detroit, MI. This Accounting Leadership Talent Development Program offers an alternate path to obtaining a CPA designation while working full-time in the Controller’s functions, providing a cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning experience.

• Mission: Provide recent college graduates a cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning experience within the Controller’s function to advance through three 12-month rotations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Unit & Enterprise Accounting: Account and report for Ally Business Lines and Enterprise Functions including Automotive Finance, Corporate Finance, Ally Invest, Corporate Consolidations, Debt, and Capital Markets.
• Tax Accounting, Planning & Reporting: Prepare the tax provision, forecast tax expense, prepare and file tax returns, and evaluate the impact of current and proposed tax laws.
• Financial Controls: Design, plan, and execute testing over internal controls, conduct testing and governance of account reconciliations, and efficiently resolve internal control matters.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare reports filed with the SEC (Forms 10-K/Q, 8-K), prepare various documents for regulatory and industry reporting, and coordinate with external auditors.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required; pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study such as Accounting or Business Administration.
• Experience: 0+ years of experience. Must be graduating between June 2026 and July 2027 (seniors or post-graduate students graduating between December 2026 and June 2027).
• Skills: Academic aptitude, quantitative skills, intrinsic motivation, creative problem solving, and advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Plans to obtain their CPA. Previous accounting internship experience is preferred.
