The Tone:
This is a full-time, regular role at General Dynamics Information Technology, located in Point Mugu, CA. This role is critical for optimizing supply chain operations, ensuring efficient transportation, inventory management, and distribution for important client programs. The Logistics Analyst uses data and metrics to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance, contributing directly to mission success.

• Mission: Analyze and optimize supply chain operations to ensure efficient transportation, inventory management, and distribution, improving processes and reducing costs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Optimize: Analyze and optimize supply chain operations using data and metrics to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance.
• Guide: Contribute to and may provide guidance on significant logistics projects, including conducting supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations for conformance to quality, cost, and delivery standards.
• Plan: Perform demand forecasting, distribution planning, and supply chain modeling and design to ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Manage: Oversee warehousing and inventory control, including bench stock/floor stock management, and handling special items like COMSEC, ESD, and shelf-life items.
• Process: Handle all aspects of shipping and receiving, including creating shipping/invoicing documents, processing various carrier shipments (FedEx, USPS, UPS, NAVSUP, DD1149), managing classified shipping, tracking assets, and overseeing repair cycle (reverse logistics), supplier returns, and modifications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a requirement to currently possess an Interim Secret Clearance and be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Experience: 2+ years of related logistics experience, including working knowledge of special handling items, ability to read Bills of Material (BOMs), and cross-functional collaboration with Production, Engineering, and Business teams.
• Skills: Proficiency in logistics projects, shipping procedures, supply chain logistics principles, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and advanced Excel functions.
• Bonus: Prior-Military Supply or Material Management MOS/Rate/AFSC is desired.
