The Tone:
This is an Entry-Level, full-time hybrid Accountant role at Intermountain Health, located in Murray, Utah, requiring on-site presence on Tuesdays. Intermountain Health is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves. In this position, you will be crucial in safeguarding organizational assets, supporting accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you will directly contribute to the financial health and overall success of the organization by supporting assigned business units.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Financial Health: Perform monthly accounting activities and contribute to the financial health and success of the organization.
• Ensure Compliance: Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and established policies and procedures.
• Execute Close Processes: Assist in the month-end close, including the preparation of journal entries, and participate in month-end close review meetings where you will understand and explain variances to plan in assigned areas.
• Maintain Accuracy: Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts, being accountable for timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
• Assist Audits: Support the preparation of audit schedules as needed, helping to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Entry-Level position requiring a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field, obtained through an accredited institution. Education will be verified.
• Experience: While this is an entry-level role, prior accounting experience in the healthcare industry is preferred. Additionally, prior experience with Unclaimed Property and/or 1099s is also a preferred qualification.
• Skills: Proficiency in U.S. generally accepted accounting principles, core accounting practices, preparation of journal entries, month-end close procedures, and account reconciliations.
• Bonus: Experience within the healthcare industry or familiarity with Unclaimed Property and/or 1099s processing.
