What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare core accounting documents: Accurately prepare work papers, trial balances, and depreciation schedules.
• Manage data entry: Efficiently enter data into various computer applications.
• Support tax preparation processes: Gather necessary data for tax return preparation and maintain the comprehensive tax library.
• Maintain client records: Organize and manage client tax and auditing files securely.
• Facilitate professional communication: Draft and prepare engagement correspondence.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university, pursuing a major in accounting. This position is an Entry-Level internship, designed for students beginning their professional career path in tax.
• Experience: Demonstrated familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Skills: Possess strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills, crucial for internal collaboration and client engagement; exhibit the proven ability to work effectively both independently on assigned tasks and cooperatively as part of a broader team; and maintain a consistently high degree of discretion when handling confidential client and company information.
• Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; Carr, Riggs & Ingram will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this position.
