What You’ll Actually Do
• Monthly and Quarterly Close: Take ownership of executing comprehensive monthly and quarterly close procedures, which includes preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and prepared for reporting. This responsibility is critical for maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
• Financial Statement Analysis: Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement analysis for the assigned portfolio of medical office buildings. This involves reviewing financial data to identify variances, trends, and potential issues, providing insights into the financial performance and health of the properties.
• Asset Manager Collaboration: Serve as a primary accounting resource, offering direct and responsive support to the portfolio’s asset managers. This includes assisting with budget inquiries, providing financial data, and clarifying accounting principles to aid in effective asset management decisions.
• Diverse Accounting and Analytics: Engage in a range of other accounting tasks and analytical responsibilities that support the overall financial operations of the company. These duties may involve special projects, data compilation, and contributing to process improvements within the accounting department.
The Must-Haves
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is strictly required, specifically with a major or concentration in accounting, indicating the foundational knowledge necessary for this Staff Accountant position.
