Federal Tax Services Intern – Summer 2027 | RSM US LLP

• Location: Hybrid (client travel required)
• Pay: $34–$40 hourly
• Team: A team providing services across diverse tax specialty areas including accounting for income taxes, corporate taxation, federal credits and incentives, individual taxation, mergers and acquisitions, pass-through entity taxation, private client services, and not for profit organizations.
• Mission: Prepare federal and state & local tax returns, complete tax planning and research, and understand tax regulations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate on a team focusing on a wide range of tax specialty areas, including corporate, individual, and pass-through entity taxation, as well as accounting for income taxes and federal credits and incentives.
• Conduct tax planning and research activities.
• Prepare federal and state & local tax returns.
• Interpret tax regulations and accounting pronouncements to ensure compliance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent. Career level: Entry-Level. Candidates must be currently working towards a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university, specifically majoring in Accounting, and have completed at least 90 credit hours.
• Experience: Candidates must be able to travel to assigned client locations and have access to and the ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations. No specific prior professional experience is required.
• Skills: Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to understand and interpret tax regulations, and familiarity with accounting pronouncements.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment. Capacity to work and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced work setting.
