Audit & Assurance Intern – Summer 2028 | CCK Strategies

The Tone:
This is an Internship at CCK Strategies, located in-person (travel required). The Audit & Assurance team focuses on partnering with clients through every stage of their organization’s life cycle, providing essential quality assurance services including financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations, as well as internal audit and fraud examinations. This intern role is vital for supporting these comprehensive efforts, requiring motivation, strong organization, and an advisory mindset to execute detailed work plans and cultivate relationships both inside the firm and with clients.

The TL;DR

• Team: Works within the Audit & Assurance team, supporting Staff and Seniors.
• Mission: Execute detailed work plans and cultivate relationships both inside the firm and with clients to contribute to quality assurance services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Workpaper Preparation: Prepare and assist Staff and Seniors with the creation of engagement workpapers, ensuring all detailed documentation adheres strictly to both firm and industry standards for accuracy and compliance.
• Risk Identification: Actively identify and clearly communicate potential areas of risk within the engagement team, applying fundamental accounting principles to inform and guide these critical assessments.
• Client Engagement: Work directly with clients when necessary, building professional relationships while gathering essential information and supporting various aspects of client engagements.
• Project Management: Efficiently complete assigned sections of each client engagement, managing tasks within established budgeted parameters and diligently addressing all review notes in a complete and timely manner.
• Training and Compliance: Provide basic training to less experienced staff under the supervision of a senior or manager, and rigorously adhere to all relevant information security policies, protecting sensitive data and upholding confidentiality.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another related field.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience is required; however, candidates should demonstrate an advisory mindset, inquisitiveness, and a foundational mastery of basic accounting concepts.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities; effective time management skills crucial for working with changing priorities and deadlines; a proactive approach to seeking opportunities for improvement; the ability to adapt to a wide variety of projects; critical thinking and independent problem-solving capabilities as issues arise; and willingness to travel to client locations, both locally and occasionally out of state.
