Staff Accountant | Raymond James

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, budgets, and management reports for internal use using general ledger accounting software.
• Transaction Management: Execute daily general ledger entries and reconcile accounts, completing monthly general ledger closing procedures and preparing analyses.
• Account Analysis: Analyze general ledger accounts to identify unusual or irregular transactions and recommend solutions, including reviewing and inputting property-level financials.
• Cost Allocation: Allocate costs to individual organizational entities and analyze their impact on financial statements.
• Process and Audit Support: Identify and recommend process improvements for efficiency, maintain policy manuals, and prepare information for internal and external auditor requests.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Accounting, with a solid understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, practices, procedures, and accrual-based accounting, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience: A minimum of 13 months to 3 years of general accounting experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
• Skills: Proficiently analyze and resolve balance discrepancies, review and interpret financial information, identify unusual transactions and accounting discrepancies, and prepare financial statements, budgets, and journal entries. Additionally, demonstrate strong written and oral communication, organizational abilities to manage multiple detailed tasks, and the capacity to identify and recommend solutions to moderately complex accounting problems.
• Tech Proficiency: Skilled in operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases, including general ledger accounting software or similar applications.
• Bonus: Two (2) years of accounting experience.
