What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reconciliation: Accurately prepare and post journal entries, alongside performing detailed account reconciliations to ensure financial precision.
• Close Process Support: Actively support and contribute to the efficient execution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures.
• Insurance Transaction Processing: Meticulously process and record all insurance-related receipts and disbursements, specifically handling transactions for premiums, broker/agency commissions, and return premiums.
• Accounts Receivable Management: Generate and manage invoices, and diligently maintain comprehensive accounts receivable records.
• Audit, Compliance & Improvement: Provide support for audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance initiatives, and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, also assisting with various accounting projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required. This role is ideal for a bright, motivated early-career professional or a recent graduate with strong accounting fundamentals.
• Experience: A minimum of 1–2 years of general accounting experience is preferred. Candidates eager to learn and grow in the insurance space are highly valued.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with strong Excel skills and experience utilizing various accounting systems. A solid understanding of core accounting fundamentals is essential.
• Bonus: Prior accounting experience within the insurance industry is a significant advantage, though not strictly required.
