The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at Skybound Entertainment, operating on a hybrid schedule out of Los Angeles. Skybound is a company dedicated to bringing great stories to life through its creative endeavors in film, television, games, and comics. This position is vital, requiring a detail-oriented teammate who will ensure the company’s finances remain accurate, organized, and production-ready. The Staff Accountant will play a key part in supporting accounts payable, managing costs, and facilitating month-end close processes, directly enabling the success of various creative projects. It offers a unique opportunity for an analytical and organized individual to gain significant visibility across the entertainment business while supporting creative teams behind the scenes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable Management: Support comprehensive accounts payable operations, ensuring all vendor invoices are processed accurately and efficiently for timely payments.
• Invoice Processing and Reconciliation: Manage the end-to-end processing of invoices, performing thorough reconciliations to maintain precise financial records and resolve discrepancies.
• Production and Project Cost Tracking: Diligently track and monitor production and project costs across diverse creative endeavors including film, television, games, and comics.
• Month-End Close Support: Actively contribute to and help lead month-end close activities, ensuring all financial data is prepared accurately and on schedule.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure that all financial reporting remains within budget and fully compliant with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with finance, production, and business teams across various entertainment verticals, including film, television, games, and beyond.

• Experience: Demonstrated capability to manage invoice processing, reconciliations, and cost tracking, with an aptitude for supporting complex financial operations for diverse teams.
• Skills: Analytical mindset, exceptional organizational abilities, and a proven talent for problem-solving within an accounting context.
• Bonus: Valuable experience in entertainment, publishing, consumer products, or production accounting; progression towards CPA eligibility; or practical experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP.
