Finance Rotation Program | Navy Federal Credit Union

The Tone:
This is a full-time rotational program designed for recent college graduates at Navy Federal Credit Union, a financial institution recognized for its engaged culture and commitment to its 26,205 employees. This program offers a unique opportunity to understand how Finance and Accounting play a critical role in the organization’s business operations. Participants will be provided with targeted training, mentorship, and development advising from seasoned leaders, which is essential for fostering their future success and accelerating their career development within the credit union.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To equip recent graduates with a foundational understanding of finance and accounting, develop their business knowledge and problem-solving skills, and apply these capabilities to day-to-day tasks and special projects within established standards.
• Tech Stack: Financial modeling, data and reporting automation tools, data visualization tools, database software, presentation software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Insight: Develop comprehensive financial forecasts and perform analysis on key performance metrics to provide meaningful insight into evolving business trends.
• Strategic Partnership: Play a pivotal role in product and strategy development by closely collaborating with business leaders and enterprise service organizations.
• Operational Improvement: Challenge existing operational methods, particularly with Technology, and evaluate new ways of working through experimentation and the adoption of new technologies.
• Skill Development: Build proficiency in advanced financial modeling techniques, automated data and reporting processes, and specialized data visualization tools.
• Project Support: Provide direct support to an assigned department, which may include working on small, self-contained projects or contributing to specific segments of larger initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a closely related field, with an expected graduation date in either December 2026 or May 2027. This program is specifically structured for entry-level candidates embarking on their careers.
• Experience: No specific prior work experience is mandated; however, a demonstrated interest in financial management, a strong aptitude for technology, and enthusiasm for digital learning are essential.
• Skills: Possesses advanced quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual abilities; demonstrates advanced interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills for effective collaboration; proficient in advanced database and presentation software; and exhibits advanced organizational, planning, and time management skills to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines consistently.
• Bonus: A strong self-motivation, keen attention to detail, and the awareness to proactively ask questions when necessary, coupled with a desire for continuous learning and openness to diverse experiences and locations.
