Assurance Intern – Winter 2027 | RSM US LLP

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship with RSM US LLP, requiring travel to assigned client locations. RSM is a leading provider of professional services to the middle market globally. The purpose of this role is to instill confidence, empowering clients and people to realize their full potential. As an intern, you will contribute to this mission by assisting with audit processes and client understanding.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Analysis: Understand clients’ needs, expectations, business, industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values, and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Audit Process: Develop an understanding of the RSM audit approach and tools used in professional services.
• Risk Evaluation: Assess risks and evaluate the client’s internal control structure to identify potential weaknesses.
• Test Execution: Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Financial Reporting: Draft financial statements according to prescribed formats and standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university with an Accounting Major, having completed at least 90 credit hours.
• Experience: Ability to arrange for and use reliable transportation to travel to assigned client locations.
• Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively on a team, and ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
