The Tone:
This is a full-time role at OxyChem, located in Dallas, TX. • Mission: This role is responsible for managing daily cash accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving process improvements within a safety-first, purpose-driven team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cash Management: Manage daily cash accounting activities, including recording, reconciling, and monitoring cash transactions across multiple bank accounts.
• Reconciliation: Execute month-end bank reconciliation processes, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items and accurate financial reporting.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within SAP, particularly the Electronic Bank Statement process, to increase automation and reduce manual effort.
• Financial Analysis: Prepare cash-related analyses and other outlooks during close cycles to support management reporting and decision-making.
• Compliance & Control: Ensure transactions are properly supported and comply with GAAP, SOX, internal controls, and other regulatory requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (with a minimum 18 hours of Accounting). Core domain knowledge includes GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience: 1+ year of professional accounting experience; recent college graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, including working extended hours during close and key reporting periods.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to identify issues and address them directly. Excellent communication skills are required, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both non-finance stakeholders and accounting management. Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential.
• Bonus: Experience with cash accounting transactions and bank reconciliations is preferred. Experience with large ERP systems, particularly SAP S/4 Hana, is a plus. Public accounting experience and experience in a SOX-compliant environment are desired. An MBA, CPA, or CPA eligibility is preferred. Experience using OneStream or similar corporate consolidation reporting systems, as well as IBM Planning Analytics, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI, is also advantageous.
