Analyst / Associate, Institutional Banking | Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group

What You’ll Actually Do
• Conduct Reviews: Conduct thorough annual credit reviews and internal rating assessments for a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring strict compliance with internal procedures and risk targets.
• Monitor Compliance: Monitor covenant compliance diligently across all accounts, proactively identifying potential issues and supporting refinancing initiatives to optimise revenue streams.
• Prepare Proposals: Support relationship managers by preparing detailed credit proposals for new transactions, including comprehensive deal structuring, in-depth historical and forward-looking financial analysis, and targeted industry research.
• Engage Clients: Engage directly with corporate clients on essential account management tasks such as onboarding processes, periodic reviews, and responding promptly to credit-related requests.
• Collaborate Internally: Collaborate closely with product partners and key internal stakeholders including credit, KYC, risk, compliance, legal, and operations to ensure timely and effective delivery of client solutions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or Law from a leading university. Essential understanding of financial markets, economic trends, and their impact on corporate and institutional banking, coupled with foundational experience in credit analysis and relationship management.
• Experience: 1-7 years of relevant experience, specifically within a major domestic bank, chartered accounting firm, credit rating agency, investment bank, investment management firm, or corporate treasury team. Demonstrated experience conducting independent research on customers and markets.
• Skills: Proven expertise in financial modelling using Microsoft Excel; exceptional written and verbal communication for reporting and presentations; strong interpersonal skills for client and team relationships; analytical mindset with effective problem-solving and critical thinking; ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating within a team.
• Bonus: Advanced qualifications such as a Master of Finance, MBA, or CFA are highly regarded.
