Early Careers: Risk & Analytics and Alternative Risk Transfer Analyst | WTW

The Tone:
This is a full-time early career role at WTW, located in New York City and Chicago, with a start date of August 2nd, 2027. WTW is a global advisory, broking, and solutions company, supporting clients in managing complex risks and optimizing financial outcomes. This role is crucial for developing specialized expertise within the Corporate Risk & Broking sector, directly contributing to client success through analytical insights and tailored risk transfer solutions. Please note, employment-based non-immigrant visa sponsorship or assistance is not offered for this opportunity; candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship. Student visas, CPT, OPT, H-1B, TN, and other temporary work authorizations are restricted forms of employment eligibility unless candidates can present another valid, unrestricted work authorization upon expiration.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop expertise: Build proficiency in insurance, brokerage, actuarial, analytics, and alternative risk concepts.
• Support model development: Aid in the creation, maintenance, and application of proprietary risk and program-design models.
• Analyze data: Assess risk and financial impact by analyzing exposure, loss, statistical, market, and industry data.
• Prepare client materials: Create clear client deliverables, presentations, submissions, proposals, research, and sales collateral.
• Collaborate on programs: Work with consultants, actuaries, brokers, account leaders, clients, and insurance markets to support program design, placement, and renewal activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA, specializing in quantitative, risk, or business-related fields such as mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, information systems, risk management, finance, or economics. Candidates must be early career, with graduation expected between May 2026 and May 2027.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical, research, communication, collaboration, organization, and time-management abilities. Exhibit a team-oriented approach, self-motivation, and commitment to integrity and client service, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, incorporate feedback, and deliver accurate work.
• Bonus: Proficiency in R and/or one or more actuarial exams are advantageous for actuarial-focused work. The role requires obtaining the resident-state insurance license within 90 days of hire and an active surplus lines license within 120 days for Alternative Risk Transfer placement work.
