Finance and Accounting Leadership Program: Accounting Track – 2027 | Fifth Third Bank

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotate: Participate in a 24-month program with six-month rotations, emphasizing accounting, to gain exposure across areas like Line of Business and Headquarters Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, External Reporting, Treasury, and Investor Relations.
• Manage Records & Compliance: Accurately maintain accounting records, perform all related accounting functions, and facilitate compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Perform Financial Operations: Prepare daily entries, oversee the preparation of other entries, monitor accounts, maintain account balances, and resolve outages from complex accounts.
• Analyze & Report: Build, analyze, and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reporting for Bancorp and its subsidiaries, performing financial variance analysis to identify business trends.
• Support Planning: Provide analysis for the monthly forecasting process, support the annual budgeting process, and undertake special accounting projects and complex assignments as directed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level role requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: Must be a fall 2026 or spring 2027 graduate with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Relevant internship and/or co-op experience is essential. Authorization to work in the U.S. without future employment sponsorship is required.
• Skills: Demonstrates entry-level use and basic familiarity with software applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, alongside internal general ledger, reconciliation, and reporting systems. Possesses professional customer service skills, the ability to solve routine problems following defined procedures, and capable of managing own time to meet deadlines with direction. Also includes a demonstrated ability to perform and communicate.
• Bonus: Preferred, but not required, is prior experience within the Financial Services industry. An aptitude to learn additional software applications as needed for assignments is also a plus.
