Excellence in Action – Finance Rotation Program Associate (New Graduate Opportunity) | BMO U.S.

The Tone:

This role is crucial for supporting the execution of accurate and efficient cyclical reporting processes for regulatory and management information, as well as note disclosure in financial statements for both internal and external stakeholders. Associates contribute to an efficient and effective Accounting function that aims to reduce ongoing costs, increase service level performance, and minimize risk across BMO.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, regulatory, and management reporting processes, including note disclosure.
• Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze data and information, integrating from multiple sources, to provide financial, regulatory, and related risk insights and recommendations, highlighting variances, trends, opportunities, and exposures.
• Process and System Support: Participate in initiatives as a subject matter expert for aspects of financial reporting systems or business processes, supporting their design, implementation, and management.
• Issue Resolution & Policy Interpretation: Provide specialized support to investigate and resolve complex issues as escalated by end-users or assigned by management, and contribute to the interpretation and definition of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements.
• Risk & Control Management: Ensure strong governance and effective controls across finance and accounting activities and information in accordance with enterprise standards, providing attestation to financial results validity and supporting audit processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Post-secondary degree in a related field of study, suitable for a new graduate opportunity.
• Experience: Typically between 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, demonstrating technical proficiency.
• Skills: In-depth verbal and written communication, collaboration and team skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, influence skills, and data-driven decision making.
