This role is crucial to the expanding Government & Public Sector Assurance practice, where you will play a key part in delivering quality assurance services to Federal, State, Local, and Education clients. Your work will directly support government clients in achieving their missions, from protecting the nation and serving the people to improving essential public services.

• Mission: Deliver quality assurance services to government clients and their stakeholders by understanding business processes and data flow to help achieve mission outcomes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Issues: Recognize potential audit issues or unusual relationships from financial statement analysis and communicate them to the assurance team.
• Documentation: Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by engagement objectives and the planned audit approach.
• Process Improvement: Challenge past procedures and work to enhance audit techniques.
• Client Relations: Maintain a strong client focus, be responsive to client requests, and develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with assurance team members to set goals and responsibilities, contributing ideas and listening to other team members’ views.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Sufficient coursework to achieve CPA certification upon passing the examination.
• Experience: Approximately 1 year of related work experience. Must be able to obtain and maintain secret clearance or higher. Willingness to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.
• Skills: Excellent project management skills, advanced written and verbal communication skills, and a dedication to teamwork and leadership.
• Bonus: CPA licensure in your work state, CGFM and/or CDFM.
