This Finance/Accounting/Tax Intern role is crucial because robust financial planning, analysis, and management are essential to the company’s ability to carry out its mission and ensure its continued success. The TL;DR

• Team: Financial Planning & Analysis, Operational Finance, Real Estate/Facilities Finance, Sourcing, Internal Audit, Controllership, GL Accounting, Reporting/Consolidations
• Mission: Contribute to the company’s success by assisting across various finance, accounting, and tax functions, supporting the overarching safety mission.
• Tech Stack: MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point), business ERPs (Oracle, NetSuite)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Extract data from financial systems and perform analyses to explain performance variances, develop business cases, or assess impacts of business process changes.
• Planning: Participate in the development of budgets, forecasts, or strategic plans by managing inputs, compiling data, summarizing for management, and investigating variations.
• Accounting: Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries, assist in financial report preparation, and perform account reconciliations.
• Process Improvement: Work on projects to improve efficiency, service levels, and lower operational costs for shared service processes like credit, billing, collections, and accounts payable.
• Strategic Support: Support business case development, due diligence, and integration for company acquisitions, and assist project managers in improving ROI on key capital investments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level; currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field, and will be a rising senior.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret information from diverse sources; working knowledge of accounting fundamentals gained through education or prior internship experience.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Office suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to perform financial analyses; ability to prepare and reconcile financial account entries.
• Bonus: Prior experience working with business ERP systems such as Oracle or NetSuite.
