Accounting Internship | Christensen Farms
The Tone:
This is a temporary, full-time internship at Christensen Farms, located in Sleepy Eye, MN. Christensen Farms is an agricultural company focused on delivering quality products and sustainable practices within the farming industry. This internship is essential for supporting critical financial reporting, managerial analysis, tax preparation, and annual audit processes, directly contributing to the company’s robust financial health, compliance, and strategic decision-making.

• Mission: To provide hands-on support across core accounting functions including financial reporting, managerial analysis, tax preparation, and audit documentation, contributing to the company’s operational efficiency and financial integrity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Support: Actively assist with general accounting month-end closing procedures, ensuring all necessary entries and reconciliations are processed accurately and efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Participate in the monthly financial statement and managerial reporting review and analysis, helping to interpret key performance indicators and identify trends for stakeholders.
• Reporting Package Preparation: Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages, compiling data and documentation to present clear and concise financial summaries.
• Audit Documentation & Support: Prepare detailed documentation in support of external audits, ensuring all required information is readily available and organized for review by auditors.
• Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects: Perform ad hoc reporting and in-depth analysis to investigate specific financial issues, providing clear explanations and interpretations, and complete various special projects as assigned, contributing to departmental initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited local University, pursuing a major in Accounting or Finance. Candidates should be at the Junior or Senior level, maintaining a current GPA of 3.0 or above. Authorization to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship is also a prerequisite for this role.
• Experience: Possess a strong desire to learn and an eagerness to gain practical, hands-on experience within a corporate accounting environment. This role is designed for individuals seeking to build a foundational career in the accounting field.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, demonstrating excellent mathematical skills, and competent in proper general computer usage. The ability to communicate complex process information and analytical findings through both oral and written communication effectively and efficiently is essential.
