This is a summer internship at PwC, located in Spartanburg, SC. PwC’s Assurance practice provides independent and objective assessments, helping clients maintain transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements. As an Audit Intern, you will contribute to client support initiatives and enhance your understanding of financial reporting and decision-making, laying the foundation for a future career in audit and assurance.

• Mission: This intern will observe and participate in the audit process, applying PwC’s methodologies to support financial statement audits and ensure client transparency.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Support: Support audit teams in conducting financial statement audits and gaining exposure to auditing methodologies.
• Document Verification: Participate in the review and verification of financial documents to uphold transparency and compliance with accounting standards.
• Data Analysis: Assist in the analysis and interpretation of financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
• Record Keeping: Engage in the documentation of audit processes and findings to maintain organized and consistent records.
• Standards Application: Learn and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) in audit tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. This is an entry-level client service intern position for candidates typically in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application.
• Experience: Must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA. Candidates must meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in their intended state of employment before starting full-time at PwC.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of accounting principles, ability to interpret financial information, capacity for structured learning and application of methodologies.
• Bonus: Preference for a 3.5 overall GPA. Demonstrating knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Applying auditing methodologies in financial statement audits. Utilizing data analysis and interpretation skills for financial trends. Participating in external audit processes and internal controls. Supporting teams with accounting and financial reporting standards. Leveraging AI to create efficiencies, innovate ways of working and deliver distinctive outcomes.
