The TL;DR

• Location: Remote (with options for in-person at HQ in Tampa, FL or retail locations). Candidates must reside in AL, AZ, AR, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, WV, WI, WY.
• Pay: $20 hourly
• Team: Reports to the VP Accounting.
• Mission: To learn and perform accounting duties with a focus on General Ledger and Budget, contributing to the financial operations of the credit union under supervision.
• Start Date: The internship is for Spring 2027; listed staggered start dates are Tuesday, January 26th, 2026, and Wednesday, January 27th, 2026, with New Hire Orientation on Friday, January 29th, 2026.
• Tech Stack: PC, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx

What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform: Learn to execute general accounting duties under supervision, focusing on General Ledger and Budget.
• Collaborate: Engage in regular meetings with the VP Accounting to review progress and discuss learning outcomes.
• Support: Contribute to the accounting department’s functions, understanding the practical application of accounting principles.
• Communicate: Participate in video collaboration via Microsoft Teams and Cisco WebEx with team members.
• Adhere: Work within standard business hours (8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday) with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules, not exceeding 29 hours per week.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in Accounting at the University of South Florida, University of Tampa, or University of South Carolina. This is an entry-level internship.
• Experience: Successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I.
• Skills: High proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of PC; ability to collaborate on camera.
