Investment Controller | Air Liquide

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Air Liquide, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Air Liquide is a world leader in gases, technologies, and services for Industry and Health, operating in 78 countries and serving millions of customers and patients with essential small molecules like oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. This role is central to providing reliable financial investment data and analysis, helping country and cluster management, as well as headquarters, make informed decisions for the EAP cluster. The Investment Controller ensures rigorous financial oversight and accurate project tracking to boost efficiency and deliver sustainable performance.

• Team: Finance | EAP Cluster | Investment Control, reporting within the EAP Operations Control team
• Mission: To provide reliable financial investment data and analysis, proactively manage investment envelopes, and ensure rigorous financial oversight and accurate project tracking for the EAP cluster.
• Tech Stack: Power BI, Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Microsoft counterparts, AI tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Regional Portfolio Management: Maintain a comprehensive view of investment opportunities, projects under execution, and future Profit & Loss contributions across the EAP cluster.
• Capital Budget Oversight: Proactively manage CapEx envelopes, related reporting, and the overall investment process to facilitate timely choices while upholding internal governance.
• Investment Tracking & Compliance: Track ongoing Investment Portfolios, CO2 emission variances, and project contributions for regular reporting to Group consolidation tools.
• Special Investment Process Leadership: Lead the end-to-end special investment process as the business partner for the Business Development team, reviewing business cases, financial models, and tracking key milestones.
• Digital Tool Optimization & Reporting: Optimize the day-to-day utilization of internal digital finance tools, provide transitional support during migration, and prepare D&A forecasts and status reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 3+ years of financial control, investment accounting, or analytical experience.
• Skills: Basic finance knowledge covering P&L up to Operating Income, CapEx, and OpEx terminologies, hands-on experience using Power BI, and advanced proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft counterparts.
• Bonus: Preferably within capital-intensive sectors such as industrial gas, energy, or industrial infrastructure.
