Securities & Derivatives Analyst 2 | Citigroup Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Citigroup Inc., located in Mumbai, India. Citigroup Inc. is a global financial services company providing a wide range of financial products and services. This intermediate-level position is essential for processing orders and transactions from trading desks and branch offices, supporting the firm’s operational backbone. The role directly contributes to the seamless clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Oversee equity trading and clearing operations for institutional clients, including FPIs, MFs, Insurance Companies, FDIs, and large corporates.
• Settle: Facilitate stock exchange and custodian settlements, monitor the complete trade life cycle, and contribute to risk management and client servicing initiatives.
• Onboard: Onboard institutional, corporate, and HNI clients by ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, Citi internal due-diligence, and Risk Based KYC norms.
• Monitor: Perform margin monitoring, manage trade confirmations, and handle both cash and non-cash collateral for client accounts.
• Support: Provide essential support to traders and the execution desk, including contracting, calculating commissions, preparing various MISs, and addressing ad-hoc queries.
• Facilitate: Assist with large Investment Banking deals by onboarding corporate clients, managing margining and funding requirements, overseeing fund settlements, and repatriating sale proceeds to foreign clients.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or University degree, or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance. This is an intermediate-level position.
• Experience: 5-6 years of relevant experience in Equity Capital Markets Operations, preferably in a broker environment, with strong experience in India Cash Equity trade settlement and understanding of the complete trade life cycle. Experience in Institutional / FPI client onboarding is also required.
• Skills: Equity Capital Markets Operations, India Cash Equity trade settlement, Trade Life Cycle understanding, Institutional/FPI client onboarding, MS Excel proficiency.
• Bonus: Relevant NISM Capital markets certification and exposure to trade settlement platforms such as TCS BanCS.
