Finance Analyst Intern – South Central District (Summer 2027) | Kiewit

The Tone:
This is an internship at Kiewit, based out of the South Central District’s home office in Westlake, Texas, with project-based relocation possible across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Kiewit is a large construction organization that builds heavy civil, transportation, and water resource infrastructure, including tunnels, bridges, and energy projects. This role offers a hands-on, real-world learning experience directly related to skills needed in a full-time construction career, allowing interns to develop and participate in key roles within construction management. The position is essential for supporting construction operations and contributing to impactful infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage various aspects of construction projects including field engineering, operation planning, cost control, and project scheduling.
• Execute engineering tasks that require standard techniques and resolve minor technical problems arising during construction activities.
• Maintain accurate records pertaining to job progress, costs, and material usage to support project oversight.
• Plan and schedule specific segments of projects while investigating incidents and recommending appropriate solutions or alternatives.
• Review project plans and specifications to determine precise material requirements (quantities and qualities) and associated pricing.
• Coordinate with suppliers to facilitate the efficient handling and expedited delivery of all necessary materials for construction.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. This is an entry-level internship opportunity.
• Experience: Ability to work full-time during the summer period (approximately May-August) and willingness to travel or relocate as needed for project assignments.
• Skills: Strong organizational capabilities, effective time management, and meticulous attention to detail are required. Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
