Operations Associate | The Voleon Group

The Tone:
This is an early-career rotational program at The Voleon Group, located in Berkeley, CA or New York, NY. Voleon is a technology company applying state-of-the-art AI and machine learning techniques to finance. This role is crucial for developing the firm’s next generation of leaders, offering a structured path to a permanent position after three six-month rotations across various business functions. Associates will gain a deep understanding of Voleon’s operations and contribute to high-impact projects from day one.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotation Management: Complete three six-month rotations across diverse business functions, including Client Service, HR, Fund Finance, Business Strategy, Legal, Compliance, and R&D teams.
• Project Execution: Take on high-impact project work within each rotation, contributing directly to firm priorities.
• Leadership Engagement: Work directly with senior stakeholders, including regular exposure to the executive team, on key firm initiatives.
• Responsibility Growth: Take on increasing responsibilities based on demonstrated ability rather than tenure within the program.
• Program Contribution: Contribute to the Operations Associate Program itself through leadership opportunities, recruiting efforts, and learning and development programming.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-career candidates with a strong academic record from a rigorous undergraduate program, including current Bachelor’s and Master’s students and recent graduates. Any major or academic focus is accepted.
• Experience: Demonstrated ambition and ownership, evidenced by building, leading, or fixing something.
• Skills: Critical thinking to identify and act on opportunities for improvement, ability to structure ambiguous problems for evaluation and solution, strong analytical abilities, effective communication, capable of managing multiple work streams with high attention to detail, and a collaborative team player.
• Bonus: Genuine curiosity about how a quantitative investment firm operates.
