ANSEP Temporary Fiscal and Administrative Support | ANSEP

The Tone:
This is a part-time, non-exempt temporary staff position at ANSEP, located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. ANSEP is seeking support for its leadership team to manage finance, grants, human resources, and administrative operations. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a student or early career professional to gain practical, hands-on experience in financial management, organizational operations, and professional communication within a dynamic educational organization. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of key fiscal and administrative processes for the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Support: Provide hands-on assistance with accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Grant Management: Support grant budget tracking and contribute to grant account reconciliation efforts.
• Operational Logistics: Manage purchasing, coordinate travel arrangements, and assist with asset management.
• Administrative Duties: Handle records management and provide support for ANSEP events.
• HR and General Administration: Assist with a variety of human resources and broader administrative activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: One year of college coursework in business, accounting, finance, or a related field, with knowledge of basic accounting and administrative practices including accounts payable and receivable, budget review, travel processing, and recordkeeping.
• Experience: Familiarity with automated accounting or financial systems, electronic spreadsheets, and the ability to work with databases and financial information.
• Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable working with numbers, self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records with appropriate attention to detail.
• Bonus: Knowledge of grant processes, grant account reconciliation, and various funding sources is preferred. An interest in accounting, finance, business, or organizational operations is helpful, as is some experience with budgets, spreadsheets, financial systems, or inventory management.
