Accounting Intern | Enact Mortgage Insurance

The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at Enact Mortgage Insurance, located in Raleigh, NC with a hybrid work schedule. Enact is a leading U.S. private mortgage insurance provider, focused on helping lenders enable homeownership. This role matters as interns gain hands-on experience, develop essential technical and professional skills, and contribute cutting-edge ideas to drive business success within the accounting team. You will learn various accounting, compliance, and reporting skills through meaningful projects alongside industry experts.

• Mission: Support financial reporting, compliance, and core accounting processes while gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the achievement of business results.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Support: Assist with month-end close activities, SOX control testing, reconciliations, and ad hoc projects that support financial reporting and compliance objectives.
• Process Support: Support financial reporting, accounting, and compliance processes through data analysis, documentation, testing, and research related to GAAP, SOX, SEC, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Industry Exposure: Gain exposure to accounting, regulatory, and compliance requirements within the highly regulated mortgage insurance industry.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop a broad understanding of the finance and mortgage insurance industry.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Rising Senior or Graduate student pursuing an Accounting degree, with plans to pursue a CPA license after graduation.
• Experience: Entry-level experience with a strong foundation in accounting principles and an understanding of GAAP concepts.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; self-motivated and detail-oriented; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bonus: Curious, adaptable, eager to learn, positive attitude, and willingness to take on new challenges.
