Director, General Accounting-Corporate-Full Time, Days | Mount Sinai Health System

• Mission: Directs and exercises management responsibility over business and operational activities of a department, ensuring compliance, financial integrity, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Policy & Planning: Directs and coordinates the formulation, interpretation, and administration of current and long-range policies, procedures, and programs.
• Operational Oversight: Oversees the daily operation of the department, including managing workload, creating schedules, and resolving issues that arise.
• Strategic Goal Setting: Establishes goals and objectives for the department that align with Mount Sinai’s policies and external regulations, and defines procedures for continuous improvement.
• Financial Stewardship: Collaborates with leadership to plan budget needs, assure completion of the annual budget, and monitor the department’s financial status.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Implements quality assurance programs and oversees monitoring activities to meet the standards and regulations of accrediting agencies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required, with a preference for a Master’s degree, in health care finance or administration.
• Experience: 7 years of experience in health care finance or administration, including strategic planning and execution, policy formulation, building and developing financial plans, managing resources, and leading successful teams.
• Skills: Administrative direction, operational management, budget planning, financial system oversight, compliance assurance, team leadership, process improvement.
• Bonus: Big 4 experience a plus, CPA a plus.
