Specialist, Account Data Management & Governance | Neuberger Berman
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neuberger Berman, located in New York City. Neuberger Berman focuses on Enterprise Data Governance to enable smart, data-driven decisions that uphold its core principles. Effective governance ensures data is high quality, well-understood, and readily available to support informed decision-making across the organization. This role specifically owns account data quality, controls, and process discipline across the account lifecycle.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Quality & Resolution: Manually investigate and resolve mismatched account data and daily exceptions across various systems by working directly with data owners.
• Account Lifecycle Management: Oversee new Aladdin account opening processes, manage account openings at custodian portals, and maintain consistent entity records and reference data across systems.
• Governance & Standardization: Support the Account Data Steward in defining and executing the account data roadmap, supervising critical data elements, and adding new business terms and rules to data platforms.
• System Enhancement & Testing: Project manage account data enhancements across key systems, submitting stories to technology, attending grooming sessions, and performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Stakeholder Engagement: Lead weekly account data meetings with key stakeholders to review open items and exception trends, and organize quarterly discussions to update on roadmap progress.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with 5-8+ years of relevant experience, focusing on reference data, security master, or account master data.
• Experience: 5-8+ years of experience in project management, business analysis, and documenting/mapping business processes, comfortable with hands-on manual data investigation and exception resolution.
• Skills: Strong data analysis, profiling, and discovery skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in MS Excel, Visio (or equivalent), and PowerPoint; ability to manage multiple concurrent work efforts independently.
• Bonus: Hands-on experience with Aladdin, Datactics, and/or VantageIQ; data governance experience in financial services; fund launch or fund onboarding experience; investment operations background; 5+ years of asset management experience; experience with data cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra) or lookup-table-driven rules engines; exposure to offshore team coordination.
