What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Processes: Actively assist in the coordination and execution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, contributing to the timely finalization of financial statements.
• Record Maintenance: Prepare accurate journal entries and conduct thorough account reconciliations, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data within the general ledger.
• Financial Reporting Support: Provide comprehensive support for general ledger accounting activities and assist in the preparation of financial reporting requirements, adhering to established guidelines.
• Variance Analysis: Proactively analyze account activity, meticulously investigating and resolving any identified variances to maintain the reliability of financial information.
• Project Collaboration: Partner with senior accounting and finance leadership on various special projects, and identify proactive opportunities to improve existing accounting processes and procedures.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, demonstrating a strong foundational understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. This role is ideal for an individual early in their accounting career.
• Experience: Experience with general ledger accounting, preparing journal entries, conducting reconciliations, or supporting month-end close processes is preferred, providing a practical foundation for this role.
