The Tone:
This is an onsite, entry-level role located in Louisiana. Walker Elliott is assisting a growing energy investment company in finding this hire. The role provides broad exposure to oil and gas accounting, royalty interests, financial reporting, acquisitions, and investment operations, fostering a deep understanding of the business beyond a single accounting focus.

• Mission: This person will help manage core accounting operations and support financial projects for a growing energy investment company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger: Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Transaction Management: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, production, and royalty payments.
• Reporting Assistance: Assist with property tax reviews, financial reporting, and investor reporting.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate accounting records and help resolve discrepancies.
• Project Support: Support the team with additional accounting and financial projects as the company grows.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience: Early-career accounting professionals are encouraged to apply, with a willingness to learn oil and gas industry-specific accounting.
• Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability and willingness to work onsite in Louisiana.
• Bonus: Strong academic performance (3.0+ GPA preferred for recent graduates), experience in oil and gas accounting, and experience with Power BI.
