Accounting Intern | Ibotta

The Tone:

This role is crucial for an Accounting Intern to fully integrate with the team and directly contribute to ongoing business initiatives for the Summer 2027 program. Beyond daily team collaboration, the intern will engage in curated teach-outs to build essential workforce skills, tackle real-world business challenges, and contribute to a mission-driven company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Close: Assist with monthly accounting close procedures by preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting necessary analysis.
• SEC Filings: Support the preparation of SEC filings, specifically the company’s second quarter 10-Q, by assisting with the disclosure checklist and financial statement tie-out.
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, report on automation impact, help develop key performance indicators for automation, and research relevant third-party software.
• Automation Testing: Test new automation tools, document updated workflows, and provide feedback on the effectiveness of automation solutions.
• Audit Support: Help with internal audits, document control procedures, and ensure adherence to established regulations and internal policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Juniors pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and implement ideas from conception to completion.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; Maturing analytical abilities; Close attention to detail; Desire to learn and collaborate with teammates.
