Fund Accounting Internship | Standish Management, LLC

The Tone:
This is an internship position at Standish Management, LLC, specifically offered for the summer of 2027. Standish Management provides specialized fund administration services to Managers and General Partners of private equity funds, encompassing Buy-out, Venture Capital, Real Estate, and Fund-of-Funds. For new General Partners, the company offers consulting services to accelerate fund launches in addition to its comprehensive fund administration. For established General Partners, Standish Management delivers administration services and technology across entire fund families or select funds, helping them scale their operations efficiently. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable exposure to the private equity and venture capital industries through hands-on experience in fund administration and partnership accounting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial and Client Data Entry: Accurately input financial and client information into the company’s recordkeeping system, ensuring data integrity for all transactions and client interactions.
• Filing System Management: Proactively maintain and update various digital and physical filing systems, contributing to organized and easily retrievable client data and financial records.
• Audit and Tax Team Support: Provide essential assistance to internal and external audit and tax teams by preparing and organizing required support schedules and documentation.
• Systems Conversion and Data Projects: Actively participate in systems conversion projects for new and existing clients, including ongoing data entry, and assist with other special projects as assigned by Associates and Fund Controllers.
• Reporting and Discrepancy Analysis: Review and analyze client documents and system-generated reports, both financial and non-financial, to identify, investigate, and address any discrepancies to maintain accuracy and compliance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level. Knowledge of basic Accounting and Finance principles is required.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, is essential for this role.
• Skills: Demonstrated attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, ability to multi-task and adhere to strict deadlines, capacity to work effectively both in a team and individually, and strong organizational skills coupled with a dedicated work ethic.
• Bonus: Familiarity with QuickBooks software is considered a plus.
