Administrative Fellow | Guthrie
The Tone:
This is a two-year post-graduate fellowship at Guthrie, a healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive patient care and fostering future leaders in Sayre, PA. This role is critical for developing the next generation of administrative talent and contributing to high-impact strategic projects that shape the organization’s future. The program provides applied learning and work experience through structured rotations and operational assignments.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotational Assignments: Complete first-year structured experiential rotational assignments focused on strategic projects with high organizational impact, large scope, and complexity.
• Operational Assignment: Fulfill a one-year operational assignment and execute a targeted development plan during the second year, as identified by Guthrie Leadership.
• Leadership Participation: Actively attend and participate in operational leadership meetings at department, entity, and system levels, focusing on performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Project Management: Lead or contribute to various projects including program reviews, cost-benefit analysis, program planning, and the development and implementation of new policies.
• Strategic Contribution: Engage in leadership activities, special events, and professional conferences, participating in the decision-making process of The Guthrie Clinic through assigned experiential learning projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Master’s degree in health care administration, business administration, or a related discipline from an accredited graduate program.
• Experience: Not required.
• Skills: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive patient, medical record, and employee information on a daily basis.
• Skills: Demonstrated diplomacy, tact, and professionalism when interacting with personnel at all levels, both internal and external to The Guthrie Clinic.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities for tasks such as program reviews, cost-benefit analysis, and strategic program planning.
• Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills essential for active participation in leadership meetings and contributing to organizational decision-making.
