Staff Accountant | Hoskinson Family Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Bookkeeping: Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including recording journal entries, reconciling bank and investment accounts, and maintaining the general ledger.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements and support the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Budget & Cash Flow: Assist with budgeting initiatives and track cash flow to inform financial planning and decision-making.
• Compliance & Advisory: Help ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements by organizing essential documentation and coordinating effectively with external advisors.
• Process Improvement: Respond promptly to internal inquiries, produce ad hoc financial reports, and actively contribute to the improvement of accounting procedures and controls.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; strong foundational knowledge of GAAP, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, specifically QuickBooks and Excel, demonstrating an ability to manage data accurately.
• Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines; effective written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders; high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential financial information.
• Bonus: CPA certification or active progress toward obtaining it; beneficial prior experience within a family office, private wealth management, or similar financial environment.
