Accounting Specialist – RTR General Accounting | Coca-Cola Bottlers’ Sales & Services

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Coca-Cola Bottlers’ Sales & Services, located in Tampa, FL, operating in a hybrid work environment. Coca-Cola Bottlers’ Sales & Services (CCBSS) is a 532-person organization supporting the Coca-Cola bottling system in North America. This position is crucial for providing financial accounting expertise and support to the General Accounting Center of Excellence, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements for client bottlers. The role requires establishing oneself as a valued and trusted financial business partner to internal and external stakeholders.

The TL;DR

• Team: General Accounting Center of Excellence (COE) team, primarily in Client Services and Payroll Accounting.
• Mission: Oversee financial activities affecting bottler financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations, while providing financial reporting, analysis, and audit support.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Advanced-level Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Access Databases, Accg Support Tools (e.g., Blackline), CONA, third party software, implemented automation technology.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute the month-end close process for assigned areas, including monthly reporting, analysis, and reconciliations, ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, integrity, and quality of financial statements.
• Review complex and material reconciliations and journal entries completed by the offshore team (BPO), covering specific areas such as Payroll accruals, Equity investments, Workers’ Compensation, GRIR, and Income Tax accruals.
• Cultivate and lead relationships with assigned bottlers, serving as a trusted financial business partner for all general accounting activities, and providing audit support.
• Drive process improvement initiatives by leveraging key business indicators and providing financial and project management leadership throughout these initiatives.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to support operational decision-making for client bottlers, based on the role’s responsibilities and expertise.
• Coordinate and lead client/stakeholder meetings, collaborating cross-functionally to understand industry, bottler, and customer end-to-end processes and deliver expected results.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience, with prior exposure to Financial or Cost Accounting and related activities in a professional environment.
• Skills: Strong understanding of finance business processes and accounting policies (GAAP); proficiency in SAP, Advanced-level Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Access Databases, and Accounting Support Tools (e.g., Blackline); strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet deadlines; process improvement focus; and ability to build strong, trusted internal and external customer relationships.
• Bonus: Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.
