Accounting Associate | HUB International

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office role at HUB International, supporting its Proper Insurance Services entity. HUB International is a global insurance and employee benefits broker, with Proper Insurance Services specializing in policies for property managers and vacation rental owners. This position is vital for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of renewal policies, directly supporting client needs. It offers an entry point for individuals with customer service or administrative backgrounds to grow within the accounting field.

• Mission: Ensure all renewal insurance policies are processed accurately and on time for vacation rental owners and property managers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Payments: Accurately process renewal payments received through ACH, credit card, and mortgage escrow accounts on policy effective dates.
• Handle Deposits: Process and deposit approximately 500-600 checks weekly, meticulously recording these deposits into the banking system.
• Record Transactions: Enter and accurately record all financial transactions into the proprietary insurance software and QuickBooks Online.
• Ensure Compliance: Verify that all customers possess the required documentation and have agreed to their premium prior to processing renewals.
• Manage Communications: Communicate with customers via email regarding account status, payment status, and necessary renewal documentation, while tracking outstanding payments and documents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or customer service.
• Experience: 3-5 years of prior experience in a relevant field, or a degree in accounting or business; an accounting or business degree is not strictly required.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel with basic formulas (SUM, IF); exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume processing; strong multitasking and organizational skills; professional written communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with QuickBooks Online or familiarity with insurance processes and terminology.
