The Tone:
This is a full-time, fully remote role for an Accounting Manager at a privately held, multi-brand consumer products company. This AI-driven CPG company designs, manufactures, and distributes physical products across DTC, retail, and wholesale channels. The finance function is in an exciting stage of growth, having undergone a major transformation that includes building a proprietary AI platform to automate core accounting workflows. This hands-on, high-impact position is vital for owning day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and scaling processes within a lean, high-performing finance team.

• Mission: To serve as a hands-on, high-impact individual contributor who owns day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring transactions are accurate, reconciliations are clean, and processes continue to scale with the business, while driving historical cleanup, strengthening controls, and streamlining the month-end close process.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Close Management: Manage the full month-end close process, including all journal entries, bank, credit card, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations, and ensure GAAP-compliant reporting.
• AI Platform Operations: Own the day-to-day operation of the proprietary AI-powered accounting platform, ensuring AP, AR, reconciliations, and core accounting workflows run accurately and efficiently.
• Historical Record Integrity: Lead the cleanup and normalization of historical financial records, ensuring all accounts are current and fully audit-ready.
• Operational Accounting Oversight: Oversee all AP and AR operations, which includes vendor payments, customer invoicing and collections, credit card processing, and comprehensive royalty/licensing reporting.
• Control Development & Reporting: Develop robust financial controls, approval workflows, and documentation standards across vendor and customer onboarding, and build cash flow forecasts and management reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience: 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including proficiency with accounting systems.
• Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a proactive approach to problem solving, comfortable operating in high-growth environments.
• Bonus: Genuine enthusiasm for AI and automation in an accounting context; active use of AI tools.
