What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Management: Manage client projects that specifically focus on employers’ health benefits strategies, ensuring successful execution and client satisfaction.
• Financial Modeling and Analysis: Develop comprehensive financial projections, conduct carrier selection analysis, optimize plan designs, and perform IBNP valuations and benchmarking.
• Strategic Consulting and Negotiation: Provide expert guidance on employee contribution setting, well-being initiatives, and lead renewal negotiations with carriers.
• Deliverable Creation and Team Leadership: Create high-quality client deliverables, providing clear direction and mentorship to junior analysts on the team.
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as a direct financial contact for clients, and present complex deliverables and insights to them in close partnership with senior members of client teams.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a BA/BS degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience: Possess 2-5 years of relevant professional work experience, preferably gained within consulting, insurance, finance, human resources, or accounting environments.
• Skills: Demonstrate excellent analytical capabilities, with practical experience in data analysis or financial modeling; exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills for clear client and internal interactions; possess proven project management skills; and apply creative problem-solving abilities to complex challenges.
• Bonus: Relevant work experience in actuarial consulting, particularly within the healthcare sector, is highly valued; holding two or more actuarial exams passed is preferred, with a strong preference for candidates one or two exams away from earning their ASA designation; proven ability to independently manage multiple complex projects simultaneously; and demonstrated experience effectively presenting technical concepts to audiences with non-technical backgrounds.
