• Mission: This intern supports audit teams by performing basic tasks and conducting research, contributing to financial statement audits and helping clients maintain transparency and compliance.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Audits: Support audit teams in conducting financial statement audits, gaining direct exposure to auditing methodologies and client support initiatives.
• Ensure Compliance: Participate in the review and verification of financial documents, working to uphold transparency and compliance with specific accounting standards.
• Provide Insights: Assist in the analysis and interpretation of financial data, identifying key trends and contributing insights for informed decision-making.
• Document Findings: Engage in the precise documentation of audit processes and findings, which is crucial for maintaining organized and consistent records.
• Evaluate Controls: Contribute to the evaluation of client internal controls, identifying specific areas for improvement and enhancing operational effectiveness.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level client service internship, typically for candidates in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program. Candidates must be currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Qualifications: A minimum 3.0 overall GPA is required. Before starting full-time at PwC, candidates must meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in their intended state of employment.
• Skills: Ability to learn and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) in audit tasks. Foundational data analysis skills for supporting the audit process and enhancing the quality of financial reporting.
• Bonus: Preference for an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher. Experience utilizing AI to create efficiencies, innovate ways of working, and deliver distinctive outcomes. Demonstrating knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applying auditing methodologies in financial statement audits. Experience utilizing data analysis and interpretation skills for financial trends. Participation in external audit processes and internal controls, and supporting teams with accounting and financial reporting standards.
