Client Portfolio Manager – Associate | Nomura

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Nomura, located in Vienna, Austria. Nomura is a global financial services group with an integrated network spanning over 30 countries, connecting markets East & West to serve individuals, institutions, corporates, and governments. This role is pivotal within the Global Multi-Asset team, acting as a crucial liaison to translate complex investment concepts, build the Nomura brand, and ensure seamless communication between the investment team, distribution partners, and institutional clients globally. The successful candidate will help clients navigate changing markets, capture opportunities, and achieve long-term investment goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Representation: Represent the Global Multi-Asset investment team to clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders, translating complex investment concepts, asset allocation strategies, and portfolio construction methods while building the Nomura brand through effective collaboration and communication.
• Investment Team Integration: Serve as an active member of the investment team, developing a comprehensive understanding of our multi-asset investment approach, portfolios, holdings, views, and strategies.
• Communication Bridge: Act as the primary bridge between distribution/sales teams and portfolio managers, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on investment messaging.
• Client Engagement & Content: Support client meetings, presentations, and ongoing relationship management activities with both internal teams and external clients, and develop and maintain presentation materials, investment commentaries, whitepapers, and thought leadership content.
• Operational Support: Support RFP responses and due diligence questionnaires across the multi-asset product suite, and collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and product development teams to align client-facing communications and support strategic planning and market expansion initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, coupled with relevant experience in a client-facing investment role, preferably with knowledge of multi-asset strategies and asset allocation.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong investment and capital markets acumen across multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, currencies, and alternatives; detailed understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation frameworks, and investment solutions design.
• Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with excellent public speaking and presentation abilities; exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; ability to work with large data sets to concisely analyze and report insights/findings.
• Bonus: CFA or advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; proficiency in Bloomberg and/or Morningstar Direct; coding skills; additional languages.
