Global Strategic Sourcing Manager | Microchip Technology

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive global sourcing strategies, encompassing supplier selection, qualification, rationalization, benchmarking, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and robust risk mitigation plans.
• Relationship Management: Lead all aspects of supplier relationships, including contract negotiation, pricing agreements, performance assessments, and strategic management of assigned categories.
• Cost Optimization: Achieve significant cost reductions by conducting thorough market analysis, building accurate cost models, implementing competitive sourcing initiatives, performing make-versus-buy analysis, and consolidating global spend.
• Process Improvement: Drive lean transformation and continuous improvement efforts across all category procurement processes, effectively executing cost reduction projects, managing complex negotiations, implementing process changes, and establishing sustainable cost controls.
• Product Integration: Partner with engineering teams to deeply understand product requirements and evaluate manufacturing options for component sourcing, assess supplier capabilities to support current needs and future product roadmaps, and manage sourcing through new product development, launch readiness, and ongoing supplier reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, with a strong foundation in global strategic sourcing management.
• Experience: 15+ years in global strategic sourcing management, including strong global procurement experience using strategic sourcing methods across supplier selection, risk/compliance, negotiation, roadmap alignment, and financial analysis, with demonstrated achievement in sourcing solutions. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a demanding business environment.
• Skills: Excellent relationship management and collaboration across suppliers, internal customers, engineering, marketing, and senior management; strong negotiation skills, including international sourcing experience; critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills. Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Office, Advanced Excel, and MS Project. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approx. 20%).
• Bonus: Preferred certifications such as ISM C.P.M., CPSM, APICS CSCP/CPIM, or equivalent; Microsoft Dynamics experience.
