The Tone:
This is a 10-week summer internship at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, located in the United Kingdom. MUFG is one of the world’s leading financial groups, striving to make a difference for clients, organizations, and communities through a broad range of financial products and services. This role offers penultimate year students a unique opportunity to gain direct experience in global finance, specifically within Japanese Corporate Banking, supporting client relationships and business development processes with Japanese customers in the UK. Successful analysts may also receive an offer for the full-time Analyst Programme.

• Mission: To support the business development process for Japanese corporate clients in the UK, from client marketing to credit analysis and operational interaction.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare business proposals and presentation materials, including opportunities to accompany Relationship Managers to client meetings.
• Support ongoing credit analysis by drafting credit applications, completing borrower ratings, and gathering information to monitor the credit portfolio.
• Assist with day-to-day operational activities in line with internal procedures.
• Collaborate with teams across Operations, Markets, Transaction Banking, and Credit to respond to client requests and contribute to internal meetings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, for students in their penultimate year of study with a strong interest in financial markets.
• Experience: Currently in the penultimate year of a university degree programme.
• Skills: Fluent in both Japanese and English (verbal and written); excellent communication skills; a proactive, motivated approach; a structured and logical mindset; excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
