The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Stripe, located in a hybrid setup across multiple US locations. Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform enabling millions of companies, from startups to large enterprises, to accept payments, grow revenue, and accelerate business. The Accounting Team is integral to supporting all Stripe products, consulting on accounting implications, and enabling informed strategic decisions through accurate and timely financial recording. This role focuses on the accounting for crypto products developed by Stripe’s Bridge subsidiary, requiring technical expertise in US GAAP to identify impacts, advise cross-functional teams, and develop scalable operational processes.

• Mission: This person will ensure accurate revenue and cost accounting for Bridge’s crypto products by providing technical expertise, developing scalable processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Ownership: Own P&L accounting for Bridge’s products, including preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, conducting variance analyses, delivering financial reports, and performing analytical reviews.
• Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with Bridge’s product, go-to-market, and finance teams to deeply understand new products, features, and contracts, providing advice on their accounting implications.
• Process Automation: Collaborate with internal systems and engineering teams to support financial systems, automate accounting processes, and identify, recommend, and implement scalable accounting processes for global growth at Bridge.
• Technical Analysis & Controls: Research and prepare technical accounting analyses, assess the effectiveness of existing internal controls, and design new processes and controls for emerging business activities.
• Financial Integrity & Audit: Understand data and system flows, analyze financial results to identify and resolve anomalies, and provide support for external audit processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance; demonstrated experience in product accounting at a senior level.
• Experience: 7+ years of relevant public accounting or industry experience, including accounting for cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, and managing a high volume of complex transactions.
• Skills: Fluency in U.S. GAAP, proven ability to research complex accounting issues, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for diverse audiences, demonstrated success influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and SQL proficiency.
• Bonus: Knowledge of or prior experience in the technology or payments industry.
