Staff Accountant | Purolator Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Purolator Inc., located in Woodbury, NY, requiring three days in the office (Tuesday-Thursday) with a set schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm EST. What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Generate and distribute weekly and monthly revenue reports to provide insights for management and field partners.
• Analysis: Conduct weekly SAP general ledger expense analysis, investigate discrepancies, and research/explain indirect expense and revenue variances during P&L reviews.
• Reconciliations: Execute weekly revenue reconciliations and assist with comprehensive prepaid expense reviews, ensuring all correcting entries are prepared.
• Journal Entries: Prepare and submit critical journal entries, including revenue accruals, indirect expense accruals, and necessary reclassification entries.
• Financial Operations: Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and internal control standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: College Degree with a Finance or Accounting major.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Financial Reporting.
• Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation), excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience within the Transportation or Logistics industry.
